Greetings,

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Labor Day weekend. We jump right back into MAP testing this week. The students have worked hard and the overall fall scores are good. Again, I appreciate that the children are on time and tardies are way down. This helps the day start smoothly and keeps the students more focused.

Some of our extracurricular activities are in full swing. The cross country team has already participated in two meets and done a great job! The 4^th grade and under group finished second at Frankfort and two members won their division in both races. Robotics is in full swing and soccer is just starting up. Please contact the office if you are interested in participating in any activity.

Thank you for all your help and support. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such great students, talented teachers and staff, and supportive parents. St. John School is the best!!!!!

	Here's What's New!!


	Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge Who: Boys and Girls ages 9-14 What: Demonstrate the basic skill - penalty kick When: September 23, 2018 @ 2PM Where: Cardome Renaissance Center 800 Cincinnati Rd. Georgetown, KY


	School Picture Day Picture day is scheduled for Monday, September 10th. This will be an out of uniform day for students. Eighth grade students must wear their Mass uniforms for their pictures because this photo is also their graduation picture.

Last week Shea received her award from winning the 2018 Knights of Columbus International Free Throw Competition. This is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations Shea!

Congratulations to the students above who moved up into new AR point clubs over the summer!


	Lexington Catholic Middle School Night We invite our middle school students to come out for an exciting evening at the home football game on Friday, September 14th at 6 p.m. We will have food, games, prizes and more!


	News from the art room Classes and Clubs Beginning September 3rd Mondays 2:45-3:45pm Arts and Crafts Club 1st-3rd grades. Cost $25 for the month. This club is a fund crafty club that combines drawing and arts and crafts. Snack is provided. Students will be picked up from their classes and walked over to the art room at 2:45. Tuesdays- 3-4pm Art Club for grades 4th-8th. In this club we will explored different artist and techniques. **Club Cost for the month of September is $20. *Club will not meet Tuesday September 11th. Snack is provided. Thursdays** 3-4pm Drawing Class for students 4th-8th grades. This class is for students that have a high interest in learning expand their drawing skills. Cost per month is $50, however Septembers cost is $40. No Class on September 13th. Please contact Miss Barb at [email protected] to sign up. Thank you!


	Lunch Menu Change and update Click here to download the updated lunch menu. Instead of Wow butter sandwiches our school will be offering uncrustables.


	After School Email Address If you need to contact Janene Barry about after school please email [email protected] For the upcoming school year all after school billing will be automatically deducted from your FACTS account unless you have made prior arrangements. Please contact the school office at [email protected] with any questions you may have.


	If you drink coke you can help our school raise money! All you need to do is enter the codes, found under the lid or on the box, at www.coke.com. The easiest way to locate our school is to search ST JOHN, 40324 in the search box. You can also turn your lids and box codes into the school office. If you would like to help enter codes, please email the office at [email protected].
